Publish to a Website From a Workflow

Use a Website publish destination when a workflow should send approved content to a connected website.

This is useful for blog posts, service updates, announcements, and other content that should be reviewed before it goes live.

Before you start

Make sure:

  1. The website is connected in the Website dashboard.
  2. Website capabilities are synced.
  3. A publish capability is available.
  4. The workflow has a review step before publishing.

If the website is not ready, follow Website quickstart first.

How publishing works

The workflow passes the article forward in a structured way. Earlier steps may research, draft, edit, and prepare SEO details. The final publish step sends only the reviewed article to the selected website.

Tropikal also protects against accidental duplicate publishing by giving the publish action a stable run identity.

Add the output

  1. Open or create the workflow.
  2. Add the steps that produce the content.
  3. Add a Review step before publishing.
  4. Open the Output area.
  5. Choose Website publish destination.
  6. Select the connected website.
  7. Save the workflow.

If only one ready website publish destination exists, Tropikal may select it for you. If more than one is ready, choose the correct website before saving.

Run and approve

  1. Start the workflow run.
  2. Review the article when the review step asks for approval.
  3. Approve only after the content is accurate and safe to publish.
  4. Let the workflow continue to the Website publish destination.
  5. Check the Run result to confirm whether publishing succeeded.

Good first test

Start with an unpublished draft or a low-risk test article. Confirm the article appears in the expected place before using the workflow for live content.
