Owner Chat
Owner Chat is how you, the business owner, talk to Tropikal about your own connected website and workflows. It is separate from the visitor-facing front desk chat on your site: Owner Chat acts on your behalf, with your permissions, and every externally visible change goes through an explicit confirmation step.
Use Owner Chat to check what is happening, prepare content changes, and approve or cancel prepared actions — without opening the full dashboard.
Where you can use it
| Surface | Best for | Setup | |---|---|---| | Tropikal app | Day-to-day work next to your websites and workflows | Open your website in app.tropikal.ai and start the chat panel | | Telegram | Quick reviews and approvals on the go | Connect the owner bot — see Telegram Channel | | External AI clients (MCP) | Asking from ChatGPT, Claude, or another MCP client you already use | Connect via the Tropikal MCP endpoint — see External MCP clients |
All three surfaces talk to the same governed Owner Chat. The same safety rules, confirmation buttons, and Connected Data boundaries apply everywhere.
What you can ask
Read-only questions return concise, safe summaries:
- "What content can I manage on this site?"
- "List the latest three posts."
- "Summarize draft pages from this week."
- "What did my workflows do today?"
Owner Chat answers from your Connected Data and workflow history. If a website does not expose the requested content, sync it or check the Website Tools setup in the dashboard first — see Connected Data.
How changes work
When you ask for a change that is visible outside the chat — write, publish, archive, delete — Owner Chat does not run it immediately. It prepares the action and shows Confirm and Cancel controls:
- You describe the change: "Set post 147 live and publish it."
- Owner Chat shows a short summary of exactly what will happen.
- You press Confirm (or Cancel). Typing the word "confirm" in chat does not run the action — only the buttons do.
- Owner Chat reports the result. Deletions are reported as successful only after the connected site verifies the item is gone.
If details are missing, Owner Chat asks a specific question (which post, what title, what date) instead of guessing.
Reliability you can expect
- Each of your messages gets one coherent answer, including when Owner Chat used several tools to find the result.
- Tool results are summarized — you get the answer, not a raw data dump.
- When something fails (a sync issue, a missing permission), Owner Chat says so plainly and tells you where to fix it instead of failing silently.
Safety expectations
- Never paste passwords, API keys, provider tokens, or raw customer exports into any chat surface, including Telegram and external AI clients.
- Sensitive records stay in the dashboard; Owner Chat returns safe summaries by design.
- Use read-only questions first, review the prepared summary, then confirm.
- For detailed records, customer history, and workflow setup, use the Tropikal dashboard.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | First check |
|---|---|
| Owner Chat shows no websites | Confirm the website is connected and synced in the dashboard. |
| Answers say content is unavailable | Sync the website or review its Website Tools / Connected Data setup. |
| Confirm buttons are missing | Ask again with the exact action. Typed "confirm" is ignored by design. |
| An external AI client can't connect | Re-check the MCP connection steps in External MCP clients. |
| Telegram stopped responding | Check /notifications and re-link with /login — see Telegram Channel. |
