Website Quickstart
This quickstart connects one website to Tropikal so a workflow can answer from approved site content and help with safe content work.
How the pieces fit
| Product term | What it means today |
|---|---|
| Website connection | The relationship between a Tropikal account, one site, and one workflow. |
| Approved resources | The pages, posts, services, products, or other records the workflow is allowed to read or update. |
| Website chat | The chat surface for asking questions about connected site content and requesting reviewed changes. |
| Manual setup | A support-assisted path for an existing compatible site connection. |
The recommended path is to create the connection in the Website dashboard, choose the content the workflow may use, link or create a workflow, then test before using chat for changes.
1. Add a website
Open the Website dashboard and click Add website.
Use manual setup only when a Tropikal support engineer gives you connection details for an existing site connection.
2. Choose approved resources
Choose which site resources the workflow can see and which actions are allowed. Start with read-only access to prove the connection. Add create, update, publish, or delete permissions only when the workflow requires them.
Good first resources:
- Blog posts or pages.
- Products or services.
- FAQs.
- Leads or submissions.
Do not expose resources that contain credentials, private operations, or information the workflow should never show in chat.
3. Pick a workflow
Pick an existing workflow or create a new one for this site.
If you create a new workflow, give it a site-specific persona. A website workflow should know which resources it can use, when to ask for confirmation, and how to respond when an action is denied.
4. Test the connection
Run the connection test before using website chat for real work. The test confirms that Tropikal can reach the site connection and read the approved resource list.
5. Open website chat
After the connection is healthy, the site appears in the website dashboard. Open the site and start with safe read-only prompts:
- “What resources can I manage here?”
- “List the latest five draft posts.”
- “Show me the fields available on posts.”
- “Find pages that mention pricing.”
After read-only prompts work, test a small draft or update action. The workflow should confirm before destructive or broad changes.
Next steps
